Maggie Brown

Maggie has over 25 years’ experience of development programming and policy analysis, mainly in southern Africa (especially Angola and Mozambique). Her career began with a focus on child protection in armed conflict and, while retaining that specialism, she has also developed strong interests in local governance.

Maggie’s current development focus is in locally-managed social and economic data systems for poverty reduction. She has worked with Save the Children, Christian Children’s Fund and UNICEF, as well as leading a vast number of consultancy projects with governments, UN Agencies, NGOs and the private sector. Maggie has been a director of JMJ International Ltd since 1997.

Trained in social work and international development, she holds masters degrees from the University of Nottingham and from Flinders University, Australia.
