Josephine is currently pursuing a Master’s in Climate Change: Environment, Science, and Policy at King’s College London, building on her bachelor’s degree in Environment, Economics, and Ecology from the University of York.
Her analytical approach to environmental challenges drew her to Evidence for Development, where her internship gave her, hands-on experience applying quantitative methods to real-world issues. During this time, she contributed to a data upload for an urban study in Windhoek, Namibia, and worked on change and coping modelling for a flood scenario in Kaikamosing, Uganda. This was a unique experience that brought to light the everyday realities faced by rural communities when confronted with extreme events like flooding, and the resilience strategies available to them, now more important with the growing threat of climate change.
These experiences have deepened Josephine’s commitment to using data-driven research as a tool for meaningful, positive change in communities around the world. Looking ahead, she hopes to build a career at the intersection of data and policy, whether in evidence-based policy design or within the charitable sector. She hopes to ensure that rigorous research can translate into a real-world impact for those who need it most.
